Local Business Spotlight: Honey Comb Kitchen
Honeycomb Kitchen Shop is a local kitchen store and teaching kitchen located in the ever-growing Downtown Rogers area! They carry kitchen tools, equipment, and accessories, as well as teach regular cooking classes that give participants the tools they need to cook creatively at home. We sat down with their team to find out more about this staple local business!
How did Honeycomb Kitchen Shop get started?
Honeycomb Kitchen Shop (HKS) was founded in 2016 by two longtime friends, Melissa Turpin and Dana Smith. As avid home cooks and foodies, they had the idea of opening a kitchen shop and teaching kitchen to inspire others to cook at home. Originally, HKS’ shop & kitchen was housed in one building and originally our cooking classes were demonstration style. In 2021, we expanded to the building next door where we were able to spread out the retail shop between two floors. With the expansion, we were able to convert the original space into a full teaching kitchen, complete with six cooking stations that can accommodate up to 36 participants.
What makes HKS unique?
We believe what makes us stand apart is that we are a locally-owned, and women-owned kitchen company with a mission to give our community the tools to eat better. Whether it's taking a cooking class with us or shopping for kitchen supplies in our shop, our customers walk away with more knowledge and confidence to cook at home.
Our cooking classes are taught by local chefs and cooking instructors and currently, we work with up to 30 different instructors. In addition, the menus we use in our classes vary widely, so guests can enjoy foods from different cultures. Not just that, our guests walk away with learning important kitchen skills, such as proper knife skills.
In addition to our shop and classes, we offer wedding registries for engaged couples. As the local kitchen registry provider for NWA, we offer a fine selection of 30+ Arkansas-made brands so couples can fill their homes with handcrafted products from the Natural State. Not only do we carry local brands, we also carry top-name kitchen brands such as Nordic Ware, Smithey Ironware, Le Creuset, Oxo, and so much more.
Where are you Located?
We are located in the historic Downtown Rogers at 213 W. Walnut Street. You can find us next to Fresh Harvest, an olive oil store and tasting room. We use their products for our cooking classes. Learn more about our cooking classes and shop here.
